Alaska's largest city is getting a new mayor. Dan Sullivan will be sworn into office at 4 p.m. Wednesday at the Performing Arts Center Discovery Theater.

Bus mechanics, others authorize Denali strike

About 16 bus mechanics, radio technicians and warehouse workers at Denali National Park have authorized a strike before one of the busiest holidays at the park. Larry Bell is the business manager for IBEW Local 1547 in Anchorage. He says the strike against Doyon/ARAMARK Joint Venture could start as early as Wednesday. The IBEW Local 1547 owns KUDO AM 1080.


Scientists lower Alaska volcano threat level

The Alaska Volcano Observatory is lowering the alert level for Mount Redoubt roughly three months after an eruption disrupted air traffic and sent mud flows toward an oil terminal.
